Good Morning …! Praise the LORD …!
Today’s meditation is taken from Matthew 12:30 Jesus said, “If you are not on my side, you are against me”
Very famous incident from the life of Abraham Lincoln, during the US civil war Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. Lincoln was not a church-goer but was a man of deep faith . At one point one of the ministers said, “Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side”. Lincoln’s response showed far greater insight, “No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God’s side, for God is always right.”
Lincoln reminded those ministers that religion is not a tool by which we get God to do what we want but an invitation to open ourselves to being and doing what God wants.
Many times, we assume things in our lives like career, education, financial status, plans, decisions, desires, perspectives etc then ask God to support in those. But the truth is even our best plans may not be near to what God desires.
Word of God clearly says that we have to be on God’s side because he is always right. if you are not on God’s side then your against to God .
If we see David life, In Psalm 139:23-24 clearly he wants to be on God’s side when he pleads,“Search me, O God, and know my heart; . . . and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting”.
So, let’s ask ourselves: Are we on the Lord’s side? Being on His side means that we will reflect His love to the world around us in the way we interact with others. We will forgive, treat others justly, and seek peace. God’s ways are always best.
Let’s take time and ask the Lord to teach us to find his ways so that we may know how to be on his side … Amen!
GOD BLESS YOU …!
