Good Morning … Praise the LORD …!
Thank Jesus for yet another morning in our life .. !
Today’s mediation is taken from 1 Peter 1:6 “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials”
Many of my non believer friends use this statement “Christian life is different and very difficult to lead ? ”, whether you agree or not many christian believers feel the same .But the bible says that we have great joy in the midst of trials .
From this verse,we can see two key points :
1. Great Joy and 2. Trials/Sufferings
Question here Is Great joy in what ? and if there is joy , why trials again ?
As per 1 peter 1:3-5, We should rejoice in 3 things 1. our Salvation or new birth, 2. Undefiled inheritance and 3. Eternal security
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead And into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you,Who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation”. 1 peter 1:3-5
Peter says we have been given a new birth into a living hope through the resurrected Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the fact that we are new and we are not the same anymore. There was a time when we were dead to God, but now we are alive to him. We received the inheritance of Jesus Chris
Many people does not have this great joy in the new birth and salvation , let us take time and thank Jesus for saving us from this sinful world and gave the eternal security .
We will see why we should be joyful in trails/sufferings ? in the tomorrow's devotion .
