Good Morning .... ! Praise The Lord ...!
Today's meditation is taken from the book of Colossinas 3:5 “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry “
"Put to Death," tells us there are some things that must take place in the Christian's life. They must go; they must be removed. It is a command that requires a decisive action on the part of the believer.
God has done His part; now we must act on it. We are to count upon this fact and make personal application to our lives.
The apostle Paul makes an uncompromising and clear statement for all the believers in Christ , if you want Christ like character you must put to death your evil desires .
Paul continuously insisting on the earthly desires in the Romans, Corinthians and Galatians .
Romans 6:13
Do not present the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and present the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness.
Romans 8:13
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
If you see the list , its almost an impossible task to put of all evil desires , I agree, There is a natural and frustrating process that takes place with this change. We can’t do it. No matter how hard we try, we can’t STOP living this frustrating way. Maybe you’ve tried before. Maybe you’ve committed your heart to Christ and then tried to stop your “sins” - those things you do that don’t please God, or what you don’t do that you should - only to find after a few days of trying that you’ve failed once again and give up.
We have to realize few things here :
1. We can never accomplish this on our own in our own power.
2. We never completely achieve the death of what is earthly before our earthly death
3. We continuously must work on this. God reveals new things to us all the time.
Always remember the fact that There is no such thing as a Christ-follower who doesn’t struggle with his sinful instincts but the key factor here is we need to overcome this through Jesus Christ .
lets focus on our lord and Savior Jesus Christ to fight against the evil desires ... ! Have a good day :)
GOD BLESS YOU … :)
