Daily Devotion : God So Loved The World

Today’s meditation is taken from John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

One of the greatest and well known verses in the Bible is John 3:16. It gives us the
Over all picture of the gospel.

1.”For God so loved”: Jesus teaches us that the God who exists loves. He loves us unconditionally. In 1 John 4:8 it says "God is love." He loved us unconditionally without any expectations; he wants to have relationship with you. The Word "So" here doesn't mean an amount of love but a way of loving. As we have received the same love from God, we need to share this to other.

2. “The World”: God So Loved the world, which means He loved all the people in this universe, includes unbelievers, criminals, adulterers, cheaters, liars, murderers etc. Jesus extended His loving forgiveness towards the thief on the cross and others .Are you loving the unbelievers and others?

3. “He gave”: It’s impossible to describe his Love and His sacrifice. Romans 5:8 says," But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus came to this world not to come down on people, but to reach out to people. He loved such "that he gave his only begotten Son." And we know that this giving was a giving up to rejection and death. He gave everything to save mankind and Jesus said "I glorified you [Father] on the earth, having accomplished the work which you gave me to do" (John 17:4).

4. "His Only begotten Son”: “His one and only Son Jesus came down to earth to save you and me , we don’t really deserve His love but because of God’s grace and love , He send his only son to save us .

5.” whosoever believes “: The Bible says, "Even the demons believe—and tremble!" (James 2:19). To believe is to "commit, have faith in, rely upon, trust in." The choice is ours as to what we will do with this wonderful gift of God. We can gladly accept it, or reject it.

6. "Should not perish but have everlasting life.”. In Revelation 20:15 says, "Whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire". Its time to check whether I have included the book of life or not, otherwise you will perish. If you want everlasting eternal life then you should accept Jesus as personal savior. 1 John 5:13 says, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God".

GOD BLESS YOU
