Florida Sen. Marco Rubio gave thanks to "his Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ" after he was elected to a second Senate term on
Tuesday. "I am glad that I am an American in the 21st century. I know God
is not done with America yet. He has great plans for our people," Rubio
said. "America's gonna be okay. We will turn this country around. I have
faith." The 45-year-old senator
said the nation needs to return to its foundation. According to CBN, Rubio quoted
the Bible verse: "Unless the Lord
builds the house, they labor in vain who build it, and unless the Lord guards
the city, in vain does the guard keep watch," he said, quoting from Psalm
127. Rubio landed a big victory over
democratic challenger Patrick Murphy, a two-term congressman. Rubio decided to enter the Senate race after
a failed presidential bid. Analysts and insiders predict Rubio's chances for
another presidential run is far from over.
