Daily Devotion : Did God Really Say ?

Today’s meditation is taken from Genesis 3:1 He said to the woman, "Did God really says? You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"

If we notice this is the first question in the Bible and also the first instance of someone questioning God’s Word? , Satan tempts Eve to doubt God’s Word. Eve responds by adding to God’s Word. God said do not eat from the tree. He did not say do not touch the tree or its fruit. This is what happened in the Garden of Eden. The very first way Satan attacked the mind of man, is and still his favorite tactic today:
“Did God really say…?” Adam and Eve respond to Satan’s question by disobeying God’s Word. It was all downhill from there. And it all started with a little question.

Even in our Christian life, Satan attacked by creating doubts on the word of God and many of us fall into that trap. We need to understand that God is not the author of Sin, nor does He tempt people to sin. James 1:13-15” When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

When Eve began to doubt what God had said, when she began to question if He really meant it – Satan had his foot in the door. Even in our life, the moment if we doubt or question against God’s Word, Satan will take control of our things and we end up doing sin or disobeying God’s word. Satan knew what is written in the Word of God and he will try to twist the Word and raising questions in our mind, even Satan tempted Jesus with the scripture, that the reason it’s very important to read and mediate the Word of God, so that we will not commit any sin against God .
David says Psalms 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. “

Lord, help me to hidden your word in my heart and follow according to your word even if Satan brings a lot of doubts in my mind... Thank You Jesus Amen !
