Good Morning …! Praise
the LORD …!
Today’s meditation is
taken from Matthew 16:18, “I will
build my church, and the gates of Hades(evil) will not overcome it “
My friend stop going
to church and said “it doesn’t make any sense to me (waste of time), lot of
politics, have access to online sermons etc. many people had this kind of wrong
idea and opinion about the “Church“.
The word “Church”
means “ekklesia” in Greek which means “a calling out,” or a religious
congregation or an assembly. Church is not a building; it is a body of
believers called out for a special purpose and are called by Lord Jesus Christ
and called out of the world to become followers of Christ to live a holy life.
Church is body of
Christ and is the head of the Church. Ephesians 1:22-23 says, “And God placed all things under his feet
and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body,
the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” The body of Christ is
made up of all believers in Jesus Christ.
Many people raises
questions why we need to attend regularly? Which church to choice? What is the
purpose of the church? The answer is Word of God; and his word clears all our questions.
Every church is to be built based on the scripture. Jesus said “I will build my
church”
We as believers should
take the responsibility of the church and group of believers in the church, we
should correct the things gentle based on the Word of God rather than grumbling
and pointing one another. The purpose of the church is to both glorify God and
to inform the world about the work of Christ as Redeemer.
The purpose of the
church is two-fold. The church comes together for the purpose of bringing each
member to spiritual maturity (Ephesians 4:13). The church reaches out to spread
the love of Christ and the gospel message to unbelievers in the world (Matthew
28:18-20). This is the great Commission. So, the purpose of the church is to
minister to believers and non believers.
We as members of the
Church should encourage, teach, and build one another up in the knowledge and
grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
GOD BLESS YOU
