Today’s meditation is
taken Romans 12: 5 “from so we,
being many, are one body in
Christ, and every one members one of another”.
Do you know the
overall structure of our body? “For
just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the
same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members one of another.”
The Apostle Paul
comparing the “Church” with the human body, we have many members in one body and
all members do not have the same function. Human body has many
systems like Cardiovascular System, Digestive System, Immune System, Muscular
System, Nervous System, Urinary System, Sensory System etc. Each of these
systems works independently and also works together in order for us to function
properly. Paul uses the human body as an example of diversity and unity. Body
of Christ i.e church, we are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.
Unity in the church involves more than simply getting along, it requires each
of us serving our specific purpose and working together. Every part of the body
has a duty and all parts come together for the good of the whole.
Even though we have
many denominations in church today, let’s understand the concept of “unity in
diversity”, we all are united by ONE in the body of Christ and works together. If one of the members
in our body may be ear, noise, stomach, leg etc was not working properly then
the whole body will suffer. In the same manner if any member or anything in our
church not working properly then we need to take a step and work together.
Every member of the Church is important. It’s vitally important, because no two
of us have exactly the same function. Every member of the body depends on other
members. You may have never thought about how utterly crucial the local church
is to your life in Christ.
Paul
emphasizes the
importance of unity amidst diversity. No part of the human body can do
everything. This is equally true in the spiritual realm. You need the
body
because you don’t possess all the spiritual gifts. Learn to encourage ,
respect and love other believers in the church, recognize that the each
individual has different spiritual gifts and talents , and we all work
together
GOD BLESS YOU
