Daily Devotion : Learn To Have Patience

Good Morning …! Praise the LORD …!

Today’s meditation is taken from 2 Thessalonians 3 :5 “ Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”

Yesterday, I went to Honda showroom to pick up my new bike, they asked me to wait for 30 minutes to complete the documentation process. After an hour I asked him but he said “Sir, Please don't mind wait for another 30 minutes, we have a lot of bookings due to festival season”. I said “fine, no problem”. After an hour went to manager and said “If you are not able to give my bike please return my money” he tries to convince me but I didn’t listen and got angry. Finally I’m happy when I saw the manager with bike key and he said “Sorry ,sir here is your keys ,have a good day ” with broad smile, That reminds me “Fruit of the spirit – Patience”,“ Can't I have patience for 2 hours ? How impatient I’m? “

We all face this kind of things in our daily life it’s because we’re so much into fast delivery, fast food, quick jobs, fast services etc. We're living in a fastest generation.

Sometimes the disappointments or sufferings that break our hearts can become the basis for happy in our lives. I was so happy when I saw my bike and could forget everything that happen last 1 hour. Be patient with the hurts over which you have no control.

"Patience is the ability to accept delay or disappointment graciously." How do you deal with delay or disappointment? For someone like me that’s really tough. Yet, patience is the ability to accept it without becoming upset.

Bible says “Learn to be patient in all situations in your life like Jesus Christ”.

2 Thessalonians 3 :5 “ Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”

Proverbs 14: 29 says, "A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly."

Proverbs 15:18 says, "A hot-tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel."

It’s very difficult to be patient in all situations of our daily life because it’s against to the human nature. We are not patient by birth that’s the reason we need to learn and develop patience in our life.

Lord Jesus Christ is the best example for patience, he never hurried to do things and he never upset when someone disappointed. He accepted all delays, problems, or suffering without becoming anxious to it.

Something that we need to apply in our daily lives, it’s not difficult if you imitate God and his Word daily.

The door of salvation is still open because the Lord is patient. The door to Jesus is open because the Lord is patient. Right now, the opportunity for us to be saved from our sins is still available, because the Lord is patient. That’s the reason he may be holding back his judgment.

If you want to become child of God then learn to have patience like God.

“Sometimes things aren't clear right away. That's where you need to be patient and persevere and see where things lead.”

GOD BLESS YOU
